A longtime Central New York lawmaker has passed away.
State assembly speaker Carl Heastie released a statement Saturday offering condolences to the family of William "Bill" Magee.
Magee served in the assembly from 1991 to 2018.
He spent much of his career advocating for farmers, and served as chair of the Agriculture Committee.
Governor Cuomo and State Senator Rachel May also Tweeted condolences to Magee's family.
Magee was 81 years old.
