What a weekend! Saturday turned out quite cool, with highs in the mid 60s, then sunshine and low 80s returned for our Sunday. We hope you enjoyed some time outdoors.

Skies look a bit gloomy gray to start our week, and there's a 30 percent chance for showers & storms, so grab an umbrella. Today's forecast calls for highs in the mid to upper 80s.

We see a conveyor belt of moisture pumping over Texas from the Pacific Ocean, keeping skies mostly cloudy and also helping to fuel some showers.

The odds for rain rise even higher to 40 percent on Tuesday, likely our warmest of the week with some low 90s.

Another big dip in the jet stream will help push more cold air into the Lone Star State very soon. We expect the next cold front to arrive very late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning in the Capital City with the best rain chance of the week -- up to 50 percent.

Cool northerly winds will make Wednesday feel very autumnal as we look for daytime temps mostly in the 60s.

Temps will ramp back up to warmer afternoon 80s by Friday, hovering closer to 90 degrees this upcoming weekend. Plan for some possible showers both Saturday and Sunday ahead of what we think will be another cold front next Monday.

Computer models point to some possible 1" to 1.5" accumulations in our region, some welcome news in light of extreme drought conditions.
