An Amtrak train bound for New York City was disabled about ten minutes south of the Albany-Rensselaer station.

Amtrak tweeted late-Wednesday night that Adirondack Train 68 stopped south of Albany due to mechanical issues.

Just before 9 p.m., Amtrak said a recovery engine would be sent to transfer passengers from the disabled train.

"I turned around and looked and the rest of the train was gone," passenger Chuck Reeves told NY1.

Shortly after around 10 p.m., Amtrak tweeted the transfer was completed and train 68 was back enroute.

The estimated delay is 3 hours and 15 minutes, according to Amtrak, with Reeves tweeting no passengers were harmed.
