The guardianship of a little boy from Orlando found on a porch in Buffalo will be determined in a custody hearing Friday.

Just ahead of that hearing, the grandparents of Noelvin Colon were able to visit the 3-year-old.

The toddler has been in the care of Child Protective Services since his parents were reported missing nearly 10 days ago.

After successfully completing a background check, Noelvin's family says they are confident they're one step closer to bringing the boy back to Orlando.

His paternal grandmother, Zenaida Colon, is seeking full custody.

According to the family's attorney, Robert Vario, the background check included finger printing, a residence check and a search for any criminal records.

On Thursday Noelvin's paternal and maternal grandparents were able to visit with the toddler for nearly two hours at the Erie County Department of Social Services.

This comes ahead of a custody hearing Friday morning where Zenaida Colon will learn if she can bring Noelvin back home to Orlando.

"Soon as they say that we can take him home we're out of here," Colon laughed. "I say thank you to Buffalo for taking care of him but Florida is waiting for him."

Buffalo Police are still searching for the three adults Noelvin traveled from Florida to Buffalo with.

Their vehicle was found burned behind a warehouse on Tonawanda Street Last Monday. A pair of human remains were found inside, but DNA results have not come back and identified who the corpses belong to.
