ORCHARD PARK, NY – Around 50 first responders and dozens of volunteers participated in active shooter training Friday evening.

The simulation was held at Orchard Park Middle School with volunteers playing injured victims.

The Orchard Park Police Department and EMS practiced what is called Rescue Task Force training.

The training focuses on avoiding delayed patient treatment.

First responders told Spectrum News their methods have changed over the years because of incidents like Columbine and Parkland.
