RALEIGH – There was an increased police presence at Raleigh’s Athens Drive High School Friday after a brawl Thursday that sent one student to the hospital.

School officials say it happened at dismissal in the senior parking lot.

It's unclear exactly what caused the fight, but a letter from the principal sent to parents explained students from other schools were involved.

Video of the altercation shows school staff members trying to intervene but with numerous fights popping up in different areas it was difficult to bring the fighting under control.

At one point, a student can be seen lying motionless on the ground. There's no word on his condition.

Raleigh police are now investigating the assault and the criminal actions involved.
